Hearts of Our Forefathers

When I was doing the research for the biography of my Grandfather, I discovered I really had to sift the Tall Tales from the reality of what happened.  The same was true of my grandmother.

Tall tales of our ancestors serve to entertain us, they are someone we can relate too, and be taught a moral or social lesson.  This is the hidden oral history every family has.

Here is your opportunity to salvage some of your family's oral history.  And since it is so prevalent, I must insist on being somewhat of an ogre here.
  1. Only family tales between 1880 and 1940
  2. Must be told as third person.
  3. No real people mentioned in your story other than historical figures and family members.
  4. target 5000 to 7500 words
  5. Pulp oriented with melodrama.
Now was that really bad????  :)
